It's nice to see some progress on ZETA. Hardware support is crucial.

"feedback from VIA how to get the RAID functionality to work"

These controllers need a software RAID implementation. You can crib the VIA disk layout instructions from either the Linux or Windows "fakeRAID" implementations, then feed those into the layout parameters of your software RAID code, maybe ten minutes work plus testing.

That is if you already /have/ software RAID in the operating system.

I think that Cola-Coder - it is the regular developer of yT - Ithamar Adema...
(As far as I know he developed this IDE-stack and SATA support for this...)

Firewire ?

I really wish that they would complete the firewire mass storage stack. My firewire external drive is great for transfering data between my Mac and PC. To bad I can't use it for Zeta/BeOS.

Isn't firewire one of the standards that beos had from long ago?

It seems my original "Cola-Coder" comment has been modded down. (How unexpected!...) While slightly off-topic, this -is- relevant today, as everyone expects you to trust their software, and a few bad ones abuse that trust.

I find it hard to believe that so many people choose to trust the faceless, nameless, lone gun men among us. If neither a commercial entity nor a clearly identifiable open-source project or single developer takes responsibility for a piece of software (closed or open) there can be no trust, and with todays operating systems, no use of that software.

If Cola-Coder is indeed Ithamar, I'm happy for you guys. I met him at a BeGeistert some years back and he seemed like an OK person.
