The second (beta) version of the TriangleOS’ web service, now called Qikx, is online now. Next to providing an online organise/search engine to store, order and share all kinds of content, the goal of the system is to eventually integrate web-storage, publishing and mail interfaces into the OS. Progress has also been made on the OS part, the VFDBS (filesystem), which can now query and read from online VFDBS-disks (such as Qikx). More information and screenshots at the TriangleOS website.
the screenshots are nice, and it has support for FAT so it could exchange information with other OS’es
the overall design looks great but he should quickly create an updated binary releasy (2003 is way too old)
i would like something like this on a bootable usb stick to edit a few simple text files and so on
Yeah … the new Qikx looks great
But i am still figuring out how the IM thngie works…
don’t seem to find a way to add contacts to it ?
and I see the email adress changed …
but does the old @wcools.nl still work or not ?
This seems like a very fun OS. Portable USB stick versions seem like an ideal mode of use.
This OS at least tries to innovate, do things slightly differently, and starts with functionality. It does certain things certain mainstream OSes only reluctantly do since recently (like centralising data-search).
Yeah … it looks to me, TriangleOS
takes the best ideas of other OS’es and combines them.
