Moto if you read this, when will we finally see a MING like phone with WIFI? (of course, actually releasing a LInux SDK as opposed to J2ME would help, too)

Personally, I am more dissapointed that the Ming-A1200 doesn't have EDGE rather than WiFi. If it had EDGE, then WiFi would have been my feature request too.

No, this phone runs the old Motorola inhouse embedded OS. Linux phones supposedly will appear in more models through Motorola starting next year.

Better support for Bitpim would be a plus too! I'd have bought a RAZR last time around if I knew that bitpim would work with it.

(It does now, but I have a phone)

Huh. Part of his answers are word-for-word identical to text found on https://opensource.motorola.com/sf/go/wiki1064

That's weird. Any idea which came first?

Personally, I am more dissapointed that the Ming-A1200 doesn't have EDGE .

I was talking with a Moto engineer earlier this year, and asked if there would be a GSM version of the Moto Q anytime soon. Said engineer laughed and replied that the question was a popular one, but nobody would buy it because it would be very slow at downloading email and webpages. When I pressed a little further, the engineer admitted that Moto is (still) having trouble developing a good EDGE implementation.

Unfortunate

This feels more like a questionnaire that was filled out by the public relations department of Motorola than an actual interview. Some of these questions you also asked them numerous times previously, see http://osnews.com/story.php?news_id=15040 yet now that they are answering them you are not going deeper into the matter with them (at least not visibly). Which is unfortunate also since you seem really frustrated with them in that article.

Of course, I very much agree. Motorola just doesn't get how to do proper interviews, especially for tech-oriented sites.
