How so?

Wider support for FUSE surely means that more developers will work on it, and the existing code will be more thoroughly tested.

Because why should open-source freely give away its crown jewels to companies like Apple and Microsoft? Especially Apple who is very eager to spread the word about its "superiority" in terms of hardware and software? Apple MacOS is build on open-source software, its own work is somewhat couture, nothing more, nothing less. So yes it hurts to see real superior software in the hands of this company. seriously? maybe because it's open source? that is what open source is all about, open and free and anyone can use it.. if open source didn't want to be used by more people it could go closed source. So... they do what they do and do it well. ;) I use a lot of open source software on my Mac which is good in case I ever decide to switch to BSD or linux again.
