It's Qt, not QuickTime

I'm glad Trolltech is making progress on this. It was rather a bum deal for Apple to announce 64 bit Carbon UI bits only to retract that later, forcing TT to scramble. On the other hand, Apple has seemed pretty intent on getting people to move to Cocoa for GUI stuff, and Trolltech may never have done it without the lever of lack of 64 bit Carbon GUI bits.

At any rate, TT reacted as they must for the sake of their customers, and I greatly approve.

It's Nokia, not Trolltech

No it's Trolltech, and with good reason.

First it's the branding, fancy thing that. And you can see lots of examples of it. It's still Volvo even if it has been owned by Ford for years.

Even more important, from http://troll.no/company/newsroom/announcements/press.2008-01-28.460...

The offer is expected to be open for acceptance for a period of four weeks and to be completed in the second quarter of 2008. If the conditions to the offer are satisfied or waived, Nokia will have a legal duty to make a mandatory cash offer for or compulsory acquisition of the remaining shares.

And the second quarter of 2008 are still in the future :-)

I'd love to see Objective-C 2.0 and Cocoa being. The benefits of more garbage collection usage should help in regards to uptime, performance and making memory leaks on key components a thing of the past.
