The article is specific to Ubuntu but most applicatoins are available in standard distros.  The basic article is as follows:<br />

1.  Install clamTk AV<br />
2.  Install rkhunter anti-rootkit<br />
3.  Install chrootkit anti-rootkit<br />
4.  Install firestarter firewall<br />
5.  Install Home User Backup<br />
6.  Install Updates<br />
7.  Password Protect GRUB</description>
