Deserve What ?

Apple has good engineers, good hardware, good propaganda.

But it is closed source company !
Why can't I test my friend newly developed app in my iPod ?

Apple is now creating new EULA licence prohibiting more and more things from users.

Apple is worse than Microsoft because we know Microsoft is bad, while all are fascinated with Apple.

But it is closed source company !
So... they need to be open source in order to succeed?
Only geeks like us care about that.

But for the Average joes, they only care about if stuff works like they should. So if it runs great and features a good design, they'll buy it.

They don't need to be open to succeed.

But we shouldn't be happy. And saying OK to every act they do !

Next decades don't blame someone because you are sued after you have tested your friend app (which isn't listed in Apple apps) in your gadget without paying Apple some money.

And don't blame someone when you only have choices between Microsoft/Apple low end things costing 2000$.

I think you just written it wrong, I know what you're saying though.

I don't like sticking up for Apple but their kernel and webkit(which supports alot of web standards) are opensource.

On the other side, yes their hardware is locked in and their licence agreements are horrid. Let people give away their rights, alot of proprietary software does that anyway.Edited 2009-04-21 22:45 UTC

Why can't I test my friend newly developed app in my iPod ?

because you are not the target audience and should be running openmoko anyway?

and don't worry, apple has a really good QA team which makes sure your friends application works and does not brick your ipod. you can have quality or freedom, not both.

So we now know that Apple and Microsoft won't be in the "boulabiar" 100 companies.

Way to go Apple, nice comeback.
