It's a pretty nice piece of machinery, btw. The remote is lovely!

When they get Hulu+ and Netflix, they will be the only device capable of serving all the good internet content and local LAN content in a single package.

The LAN serving mixed with internet streaming in the main reason I want this, as the Google TV and Roku and Western Digital alternatives don't have both features.

My problem with Boxee is the interface. You could have benefited from taking a leaf out of the “less is more” book. It just feels so cluttered and not the most logically laid out (particularly for people like me who prefer their LAN content in folder views as opposed to catalogued into a media library).

I loved the old interface and still love the range of apps available. However XBMC is much cleaner to use for day to day use on LAN content, thus I rarely start Boxee these days.

I’d love to give it another go if and when new skins become available as overall (aesthetics aside) I think the Boxee team have done a great job.

I await the full review. I have the Roku HD device and really like it. You cannot stream from Roku, but you can stream the other way around - computer to roku. I am honestly not sure how but I am pretty sure my brother in law does it. I could be mistaken and maybe he is just streaming to his PS3 but I don't think so.
