Great price considering its unlocked. Just wish I could get a lower rate from At&t if I got it. At this point, there are too many new phones coming out incrementally better than the previous. Jelly Bean should be here sometime in the summer, probably debuting on new Google hardware. Might just wait for that. There is nothing I can't do on my current year and a half old phone that I need or want it to do.

Funny. The whole site opens in the german language if I visit it using your link. Not available in a german speaking country, though.

Could mean that it is planned to be available elsewhere soon.

Will Google sell this as a 4G phone ?

Will Google sell this as a 4G phone ?

after all my friend boasts all day long about his iPhone being 4G .... because it says so on his screen

i tried to explain the speed differences

HSPA+ 42Mbps DL and 23 Mbps UL
WiMAX 75Mbps DL and 30Mbps UL
LTE 300Mbps DL and 75 Mbps UL
* all numbers are theoretical peak data rates

and explain the technical definition of 4G is 100 megabits per second (Mbit/s) for high mobility communication (such as from trains and cars) and 1 gigabit per second (Gbit/s) or 1000 megabits per second (Mbit/s) for low mobility communication (such as pedestrians and stationary users)

but Apple says it is 4G ,, soooo ,, it is 4G
and "it just works" . then he shrugs and smiles and says "my phone is better then your phone"

i am trying not to, but starting to, hate the uneducated iPhone users

T-Mobile offers lower rates if you bring your own phone, and the Nexus works on T-Mobile. We live and travel in areas well-served by them, and have been very satisfied.

Yeah, that's true, but I already have a sizable discount through other means on at&t. I'm being a bit greedy personally, but its the principle of the thing.

Maybe I should wait for a new phone to come out on at&t say the HTC X one or whatever, unlock it, sell it and use the money to buy this, pocketing the difference.

I don't think you can blame a customer for thinking he has 4G if the display says 4G.

Not only Apple, but others too offer "4G", while it's not. It's not right if you have to doubt everything your phone displays and need an "education" to figure out what it does mean.

I have come across people who asked me for help regarding mobile phone connectivity who didn't know what I was talking about when I asked if the display said 3G. If your friends boost about 4G they at least are educated enough to see what's on the display.

I think people need checkbox features to psychologically justify money spent on new gadget. They may not understand what it means but it gets them warm and fuzzy feeling that the upgrade is real. Of course there are countless reasons to upgrade but they are too subtle and complex to be enclosed in one word monicker. That's exactly the same as in camera megapixel race. Producers pitch the sensor resolution in new gen cameras. They are indeed better but the real advancements come from optics and software while trying best not to screw up with even tinier photocells. Megapixel is just a rating system agreed between consumers and marketers.Edited 2012-04-25 16:05 UTC

Yes, iPhone users are not supposed to have a brain and go through life like useless bumps on a log and be complete idiots.

I don't think it's realistic to believe millions of iPhone owners swapped their phone for an Android, while millions of Android users bought an iPhone.

Wow, another bullshit "study". I believe that about as much as I would believe the opposite. In other words: not at all.

If you are looking for more, Android users seem to prefer ugly-looking full featured devices

I'm pretty sure "ugly-looking" isn't an unbiased measurement.
The fact that "tasteful" and "ugly-looking" is applied automatically to iPhone and Android devices respectively tells you all you need to know about this "study". It's worthless for anything but a laugh.
