Maintenance release of the multiplatform toolkit, QT, was released, version 3.1.2. Also, a maintenance release of QT# was released also, version 0.7, and it works with Mono, GNU’s Portable.NET and Microsoft’s .NET. The main improvements over 0.6 are an easier build system, improvements in the demo apps, unicode support, and support for slots that take a QString parameter.

Now Mono is starting to look much more appealing. Without a GUI toolkit Mono would not be worth much. This is definitely a step in the right direction. Does anyone know the status of GTK#?
We all know that M$ has no interest in WORA but it looks like the OSS community is starting to use their old trick against them.
Can QtDesigner or libGLADE be used as VS.NET plugins for Qt/GTK development on Windoze?
GTK# is very usable right now (Currently it’s the only gui tookit for Mono that is usable). There are several sizeable applications already built. Go here for some screenshots:

Sorry, Adam… that’s my ignorance there. I was under the impression (based upon the demo apps on the qt# homepage) that the project was not nearly as far along as gtk#. Please correct me if I’m wrong.
Gtk# is wrapping the GNOME libraries and many third party applications at this point. It is definately proceeding at a fast pace 🙂
Qt# is also moving along and can be used for many applications at this point. We have some fairly sophisticated apps with QMahjongg and Sky.NET plus a few others. I haven’t used Gtk# in awhile, but it is good that both toolkits as well as SWF, WX.NET and SWT are also coming along.

That’s good news. I’ve played with GTK# quite a bit, but none of the other toolkits (except windows forms, which I’m toiling away at right now). I’m really interested in what the SharpDevelop boys do with SWT, though.
