Don't forget RUTE

I know this is fairly off topic, but I just thought I'd post a link to an excellent Linux system administration guide that's free - rute.sourceforge.net. I'm in no way affiliated with the project and I'm not getting anything out of referencing it here, but ever since I've found it, I haven't thought about buying another Linux admin book.

Just thought I'd mention it.

I checked out the Amazon entry for the RUTE book you sugested Mike. The funny thing is that Amazon has a special price if you purchase *BOTH* the Rute and the "Linux System Administration - A User's Guide" books!! Awesome idea and value, as both the books are pretty similar content-wise.

I don't know if anyone knows of this site, but I thought I would give you guys this link to a free book site called Andamooka.
They have books written in an open source manner that people are free to read, download, print out, and help annotate.
Most of the books are computer related. Here you go, have fun.

First of all, great review! Could you review "REBOL The Offical Guide" or "REBOL for Dummies"?

Both these books are not so relevant/updated for the new version of Rebol. If new books about it come out, or second editions, I will make sure I get a copy to review them.

Marcel Gagne a good writer

Although most of his LJ "Cooking with Linux" articles are a slight bit too esoteric for my desktop-oriented purposes, I do find him an engaging and entertaining writer. I can easily believe that if anyone can write a readable Unix sysadmin book it is him.
