That's why a few months ago I bought a "new in box" Nokia 8850. It's only dual band and features a B&W screen. It just has a phone number registry, a basic SMS client and a very concise agenda. What else do you need.

The good points is that I only paid 25% of the initial launch price, with full warranty; it has the universal earphone plug Nokia dropped on new models in favor of a proprietary one; and it uses the same battery as two current models: the 8890 and the 8910, so that won't be a problem to replace a few years down the road.
