IconA survey of 200 iPod users in the United States showed that 6 percent of former PC users bought a Mac after buying an iPod. Another 7 percent said they intend to buy a Mac within the next 12 months.

Also, Apple's developer community has grown in size by 250% during the last two years, primarily as a result of Mac OS X and its allure to Unix developers, reports the Australian IT. Also contributing to the gains: Apple's adoption and involvement in a number of open source projects and its embrace of the open source development community.
