Why I use Parallels

I use Parallels (similar to VMWare) because I often need both OS's running. I am a Window's developer, but my main desltop is Linux. I prefer the stability and security of Linux as my base OS< and I fire up an XP image when I need to do .NET development. ALso, sometimes I am accessing MySQL and Postgresql database from the Windows image to my Linux OS. Otherwise I would have to install MySQL and Postgresql under Windows also. HOWEVER, when I want to play games, I have to boot into a real XP partition I keep around just for this purpose.
