my solution is;
dual boot for my work notebook (windoze xp/ubuntu 5.10)
only ubuntu 5.10 for my daughter's desktop
windoze xp and livecd ubuntu 5.10 for my wife's sony vaio

all data on FAT32 formatted external USB 2.0 80gig HardDisk
