I liked this idea, but it lacks a little bit in software that makes you more productive.

Development is not all about IDE's, you need software to plan and organize your project, some uml software for example. Before I was going on vacation this summer, I planed on creating this system - but with an indexing service. I where starting to write an indexing service in C# using mono (well there is beagle, but I don't like it yet).

The indexing service is meant to be integrated, and give you the chance to search for classes and methods in files - So you can get some more productive.
But there is lot of more to come.
What kind of wdm? isn't that important, but as standard - what my ideas is now - is to be using fluxbox.

I Think DevelopGO is good - I continue where 1.0 stops.

If you make such a distro, will you let us know? ;)
As to the wdm, may I suggest Icewm as well?
And are you going to use debs?

Of course, Icewm is good. I will release a project page at the url linux.openzource.org in 4,5 weeks.
For the moment the indexing service is under hard development.
