Here we have a good discussion without showing signs of "Zealotry" and Trolling. Just what the doctor ordered. As for myself I agree that the Linux desktop adoption is slow but soon will be a complete reality (Call it Linspire, Xandros, Mandriva, SuSe, Ubuntu, Mepis or whatever). BTW, As of this time I also hear people saying that the only desktop os is windows. (Even at the CS department at college) and that Unix based systems are good only on research, servers and the likes of it(like the Linux cluster they have)
