Amiga & AROS On 23rd and 24th September 2006 at Empoli's (near Florence) Palaesposizioni building the 2006 edition of Pianeta Amiga will take place. The convention, which gathers Italian Amiga users but also hosts alternative systems such as MorphOS and BeOS/Zeta, will celebrate its 10th birthday. Among the events: an Amiga Developers Conference, demo of the latest Amiga OS4 version, the Sputnik web browser, and the 'Samantha' project: new Amiga OS-compatible hardware.

I'm still surprised at how vibrant the Amiga community and it various splinter groups can be. The Sputnik browser is coming along quite nicely too. You can get more info about it and see screenshots here: http://www.ppa.pl/khtml/index_en.php

Now if they could come up with a decent office suite for the various flavors of AmigaOS/MorphOS, I'd be thrilled.

I decided to get a Pegasos II a few days ago and I can't wait for it to arrive.

Other surprising projects ?

As we speak about Amiga projects and development meeting, you could be surprised by my PowerPoint viewer that will be out in a new release in few days. To learn more about it : http://amigadev.free.fr/pointrider/

And what about the Blender port for MorphOS on the Yomgui's homepage : http://yellowblue.nerim.net/

Don't forget another great meeting at the end of october in France (near Lyon) : http://www.triplea.fr/alchimie6/pages/index.php

Let's go, Amiga coders !
