GTK+ GTK+ 2.8.0 has been released. You can download it from here, and read the release notes here. GTK+ 2.8.0 depends on the Cairo vector graphics library for rendering most of the GTK+ widgets, bringing graphics capabilities as antialiased shapes, alpha blending, and gradients.

I just did try and install glib-2.8.0, cairo-0.9.2, pango-1.9.sumthin and gtk+-2.8.0 but I couldn't make it work... =( Gnome loaded up, but I got errors about the mixer applet and Galeon wouldn't start up, neither did gtkperf. Darn. Moving the console window around did stop for a moment and continue moving again..
