I just found myself using and enjoying very much Gnome after thinking I was a KDE fan...

Almost the same happened to me. I helped a friend coming from windows to install ubuntu edgy, he liked gnome more than kde, so after some hours spent on the 2.16 gnome I found it quite nice.
