Well, one interesting tidbit, according to Distrowatch, it is based on .deb instead of .rpm, which is the real reason I moved away from Mandrake. No, I don't mean this as a flame war, I probably should have just shied away from cooker, or maybe my skills are just better with .deb, but every time I'd run a rpm based distribution, I'd end up breaking it badly some how (the rpmdb would become corrupted and none of the fixes online would work!)
I've had the debian database corrupted once as well, but was easily able to fix it.
That is interresting. Personally i also prefer .deb, even though i am using opensuse at the moment and i am very happy with it. It will be interresting what the difference to Ubuntu will be, i.e what it is that would make me want to choose Ulteo over and above a distro like Ubuntu. Is it mainly Gnome based then or does it have also KDE?

I sort of agree with the sentiment of the first two posts. I would like to know what makes it different and worth considering ... the website is very low on information. If they want to get developers and built a community around the project they should be a little bit more forthcoming with information. However it is Gael Duval, the founder of Mandrake and so it should be interresting what he has come up with, after all he was the first one to really push the Linux Desktop market and make a usre friendly Distribution. My guess, it will be some sort of revamp of Mandrake.
