Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu The next alpha release of Ubuntu Feisty Fawn (Herd 2) is out. The Kubuntu announcement is here. "The Feisty Fawn Herd 2 is the second alpha release of Ubuntu 7.04, and with this new alpha release comes a whole host of excellent new features. Not only this. There's also this annoying bug in Edgy which makes your box stayin' alive forever. It can't power down your machine. Really annoying.

I know, I know it's on a 2.6.15 kernel but 2.6.17 has the same problems. Nothing changed for me.

The problem is that Xorg 7.3 (coming out in the summer?) is supposed to fix a lot of multi-monitor, plug and play, and autodetecting issues, so I think they're hesitant about duplicating efforts..

re: screenshots..I agree it looks very nice these days.
