RISC OS Firefox port developer Peter Naulls has offered an alpha-quality build of open source email client Thunderbird for RISC OS. The software is currently suitable for Iyonix, A9, and Omega computers only. You can get the build here.

Not to mention the fact that cross platform applications are on the rise, making the question "What OS are you running?" rather moot.

The downside is that even alternative OS'es are beginning to look like all the other OS'es.

that much is true... everything now looks like some kernel + X11 server... I wish there was some cheap way to try RISC OS... I'd really like it.

With the new shared source announcement, a cheap entry (emultor+OS for free) might possibly on the cards.
