Talk, Rumors, X Versus Y George Ou compares Microsoft Office 2007 to OpenOffice 2.2 in memory and CPU usage using the OOXML and ODF file formats. The conclusion according to Ou: "We can see that the OpenOffice.org ODF XML parser (while vastly improved) is still about 5 times slower than Microsoft's OOXML parser. OpenOffice.org also seems to consume nearly 4 times the amount of RAM to hold the same data. While OpenOffice.org continues to have fewer features than Microsoft Office, it continues to consume far more resources than Microsoft."

I think you get paid by Richard Stallman to advocate open source.

Really? Cool! I'll be calling him to tell him I want my money! I hope he doesn't mind that I produce closed-source software for a living, or that I sometimes say that closed-source alternatives are better than open-source ones...I guess as long as his understanding of my posts is as incomplete and biased as yours, I'm rich!

Honestly, sappyvcv, I'm a bit hurt that you compare my level-headed, rational interventions with CrazyDude0's one-sided (and sometimes offensive) trolling. Seriously, have you ever seen CrazyDude0 ever say even one thing positive about Linux/Open Source? A *single* thing?

Of course, if you *really* insist on defending those who give MS supporters a bad name, there's really nothing I can do to stop you. Personally, I don't really think that CrazyDude0 is an astroturfer (unlike some others here), because he's so over-the-top in his support for MS that he loses all pretenses at being objective (which is something you need to project for sucessful shilling).

Who said I'm defending him?

I was simply making a point that you apparently missed. Of course I don't think you're paid by anyone.

I'm not going to argue who is more pro/anti-MS/opensource. That would be ridiculously pointless.

My point simply is that you should keep away from attacking HIM and attack his argument instead. If his arguments are so far, why do you keep insisting on attacking him anyway?

You do realize that by your own words you fit the definition of "successful shilling", don't you? ;) :p
