"It wasn't too long ago that I was sitting down to write a review of the ThinkPad X60s which, at the time, was a pretty exciting product. The X60s, and it's slightly heavier counterpart, the X60, are still both very relevant notebooks, but they have since been replaced with newer models. The two new systems, the X61 and the X61s, are very similar to the models that came before them, but take advantage of some of the same technological upgrades that were brought to other new models, like the T61 and R61."

I wonder why, to be honest.
It probably is price with all the taxes (VAT), US prices are usually published without _any_ taxes (sales tax, VAT).
Also, in EU, you get 2 years warranty, if you buy it as an citizen/end user (not company). I don't think you'd get such a long warranty in US for the lowest prices.
Not that I'm happy about hardware being more expensive in the EU, compared to the US.

I was looking into the X61 to replace my iBook but (at least here in europe) the price is outrageous: the base x61s on the italian lenovo website comes at a whopping 1954€!
I wonder why, to be honest.
