Things mostly "just work"

On legacy hardware, there are a lot of issues that didn't crop up with Feisty. The PPC iMac I have Feisty chugging along on had the following issues with Tribe 5:

- core calculation libraries like liboil compiled using only AltiVec (which is unavailable to G3s)
- OpenOffice crashing on opening earlier documents and when creating tables of contents (platform independent)
- IDE drivers not being probed by the kernel resulting in drives not being recognized (an issue also noticed by PC users)

Something seems to have changed in the development process and the paradigm seems to be support for the newest NewWorld Macs but ignoring older NewWorld Macs which are completely capable of running the OS.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that Ubuntu had dropped official PPC Mac support.

Community support, still served off Ubuntu's servers.
