SkyOS SkyOS Beta 6796 has been released. "This build features a complete new multimedia framework (the ISS), automatic file type sniffing, a new Media Center, new Panel, updated Viewer, new Application Manager and various other applications using the new C++ API. Furthermore: 28 additional API Classes, new and updated libraries, customizable WindUI theme, 220+ fixed bugs including critical boot bug fixes."

I think Syllable is still in alpha, not beta.
Skyos looks not so bad from the screenshots, but on a modest pc I think it's a little slow. As I can remember I thik it needs a lot of resources compared to syllable.
I must admit that the amount of work that robert put in it is very impressive. Perhaps he`s a robot and not a human ;-)

Lots of debugging and unoptimized code running in SkyOS. Remove that, and it is much, much faster.

The dev guys say that's mostly down to the debugging code left in during SkyOS's beta releases. I think it should be safe to assume that the final release will be much nippier.
