Mac OS X "Until yesterday, there were 4 different variations of the Aqua theme used by Apple for OS X: the standard Aqua theme, the new Platinum theme, the much distained Brushed Metal theme, and the funky Woody theme. Commentators have pointed out on more then one occasion that while Apple's Human Interface Guidelines has guidelines for which theme to use where, even Apple disregards those rules and uses whatever theme some unknown source in the company chooses."

"Apple controls the themes of it's OS because, quite frankly, people on average are just horrendous in their implementations and creations."

Would we know this, because we know a lot of people who, having made it the way they think they want it, they discover that it is not really the way they want it, but now they cannot figure out how to change it back....? So this is what we mean by horrendous, they are making their systems into things they do not want?

Because if its just that we think its horrendous, but they are rather happy, well, that's a different problem, and maybe not to do with how objectively horrendous they are at it?
