SuSE, openSUSE The second alpha release of OpenSUSE 11.0 has been released. It comes with Linux 2.6.24, KDE 4.0.1, GNOME 2.21.90, OpenOffice.org 2.4 beta, and a whole lot more. OpenSUSE has gotten all modern lately, so the release announcement even includes fancy screenshots. Enjoy.

you know, people sometimes start screaming things but fail to look themselves at first.

The sles/sled stuff may default to GNOME but it never ever has been the only choice....

On a personal note: I dislike the looks of gnome, ubuntu et al. Does that mean the product is bad?

OpenSuse and suse in general was ALWAYS supposed to be a KDE focused distro and NOT Gnome. When Novell bought SUSE tried to make Gnome the default and they were booed so much they said "Sorry we were on crack when we said that" and they made it optional. Although SLES will have as the default the Gnome desktop if you don't choose otherwise.
