Those "why is it here" comments come from crossing the line with news that have little to do with operating systems. This article doesn't even come very close to the geek culture. Opinions on consumer products, "indie" music (usually bland and boring) and intentional acting as an anti-social looser try to define modern geek culture - I'm just opposing.
I have pointed out that editor blog headlines are the place for this and I just had to make a jab at having an public and advertised blog with disabled comments.

Your point would be a valid one hadn't it already been addressed before by OSNews staff. Continually posting it won't change anything. The best thing to do is not click on the link. Simple as that.

Thank you for the obligatory "why is this on OSNews?" post. An article deviating from Linux discussion just wouldn't be the same without it.
Being a musician, computer geek, and amateur video guy I enjoyed the article. Especially since I too use Sony Vegas; it's a great app!
