Opera 9.5 has been released, beating Firefox 3.0 to the punch which is supposed to be released soon as well. I don't really understand the objections some people have to Opera (the closed source, the skins?) but if you've been turned off by it in the past, I recommend trying it again. It "feels" much faster than 9.27, and most of the bugs in the beta have been handled. In my experience, sites that won't display correctly are much rarer now.
I haven't tried Firefox 3 yet, but I still think I'll be hooked on Opera: it's a beautiful browser!
