Convicted killer Hans Reiser led police on Monday to what he said was the body of his wife in the Oakland hills, just two days before he was to be sentenced for first-degree murder, authorities said.

This story has been big news in the open source community because of his creation of the ReiserFS. No, it's not directly a computer story, but it's still of interest to the community.
The least significant part of the story is that the ReiserFS project seems to be languishing, and may not survive.
I suspect Hans just reduced his sentence from life to something less.
