This preview of the upcoming OpenSolaris 2008.11 release highlights aspects that should be of interest to systems and storage administrators who have to deal with large storage environments. ZFS is a big component that is referred to often, but there are new storage services and capabilities in addition to ZFS that might be overlooked and are quite compelling. The article here is an overview of storage technologies in OpenSolaris. The article in your link is a overview of ZFS internals. Quite different goals. If you want more info and indepth coverage of each of the technologies mentioned, go to the OpenSolaris.org links sprinkled all over the article in relevant places. I think that was the purpose of the author doing the preview.
