ReactOS is so dead.
It has been years stalled.
It has been years stalled.
That's news to us who actually pay attention to these things. ReactOS make regular releases. The last release was less than a month ago and Thom posted it right on the front page here on OSNews.

I read a few comments and a lot of people would like a new open source OS (like Linux) that can be modified and customized as the user sees fit. Yes a clean API would be wonderful as well.
What everybody seems to miss is the fact that there should be LESS operating systems. The OS I am waiting for is ReactOS. It is the most promising contender as it is compatible with Windows. A lot of drivers are available for Windows as so for applications. People that are dependent on a tool like Photoshop don't want to learn a new graphics program, they just want Photoshop. Yes you could run wine but it is not perfect yet. ReactOS would solve this.
My dad would love to switch to Linux but he uses Photoshop, Quark Express, CorelDraw, etc. He hates Mac (mostly because of their fanboys) and agrees with a lot of my opinions. He can't switch. He says he is to old to learn something new (can't blame him he's 65). I did get him to use FireFox and Thunderbird and he is loving it (yes he thinks there better than their Microsoft counterparts).
For people that are not dependent on any special application, like me, can switch.
