Linux We all know them. We all hate them. They are generally overdone, completely biased, or so vague they border on the edge of pointlessness (or toppled over said edge). Yes, I'm talking about those "Is Linux ready for the desktop" articles. Still, this one is different.

You asked for one application by MS that uses .NET. I gave you one. I could've also written PowerShell, MS's whole server stack, etc., but since you only asked for one app, don't bitch.

I do not know, but if silverlight would be .net, why it does not run with mono and why is there moonlight ?
Even Novells Mono apps like beagle and f-spot are not realy .net, because last time I checked, the does not run with windows/.net.

.NET apps can call native libraries. Many .NET apps on Windows call Windows libraries. Those are not present in Mono.

That's basically the same, just the other way around. Default .NET does not ship GTK# DLL's. These are shipped by Mono. Beagle OTOT probably uses Linux file access calls (I don't know for sure, though).
