Linux We all know them. We all hate them. They are generally overdone, completely biased, or so vague they border on the edge of pointlessness (or toppled over said edge). Yes, I'm talking about those "Is Linux ready for the desktop" articles. Still, this one is different.

How does the Linux kernel on super computers have any place in discussion about the desktop?

Every time people talk about Linux on the desktop there is some guy defending it and referencing success in totally unrelated areas.

Please don't be a FI.

Priest: I was merely making an observation that the kernel is indeed a very robust piece of software. Someone was making the argument above that Linux was worthless because it was developed in part by volunteers.
