With Snow Leopard finally been given a release date and a price, the comparisons with Windows 7 are starting to pop up all over the place, especially focussing on the price aspect of things. While Apple's move to price Snow Leopard at 29 USD for Leopard owners is a very welcome one, the move doesn't mean that Microsoft is getting a price beating from Apple.

It is very hard to believe full HD as in 1080p is playable on a machine like that especially since everday at a hd anime site, I see people with C2D machines complaining they cant run 1080p bluray mkvs!Recent Original Stories

To add to your point, I seriously doubt Thom's claims about his machine that is acting as his media server can play back full HD with that P4. I really doubt it unless he is using some sort of software to offload the work to the gpu for playing back 1080p stuff...still I highly doubt it. System is just not powerful enough!
