Microsoft I'm sure most of you are aware of the advertisements going back and forth between Apple and Microsoft. Apple started out with the "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC" campiagn, and Microsoft responded - after a long wait - with the "Laptop Hunters" ads. Recently, Apple made some price cuts, and according to Microsoft, the Cupertino company's lawyers contacted Microsoft, demanding they take down the ads.

I did hear about the Laura chick being an actress .. but are you certain all the others are as well? It could be that some of them are random folks, i would think. Maybe i'm giving Microsoft too much trust, though ...

If all I could afford was a $700 computer, I was planning to purchase a $700 computer within the month and had it saved, someone offered me $700 cash up front; what do you think I'd do? I'd combine the money given along with the money I had saved and purchase a Mac. I would still have only spent $700 of my own money and because of 'Microsoft's' top up, I can now afford a Mac.

But then again, that would stuff up their whole marketing, "people really want Macs, but only go for PC's because they're cheap" - way to go killing your brand. Might as well relabel yourself as 'Budget', 'Home Brand', 'Pams' (names of budget private label brands in New Zealand) if you desire is to race to the bottom of the barrel. It might work in a recession but when the US comes out of it you're going to see people purchase something that maintained its image and brand instead of devaluing it.
