What is the CPU in it? slap some more pc100/133 in it for $5 and if its a slot1 p2 or so, nab a faster slot1 p3 for $20 and you'd be good to go
Pentium II, 266 MHz. I think the machine takes PC66 memory, I looked into upgrading it but PC100 was the lowest I found. At this point, I honestly don't think it's worth saving; it even fails to boot correctly every once in a while (doesn't send a signal to the monitor, and when trying to shut down, a hard shutdown by holding the power button is required). Its backup battery just died recently too, which is no big deal, but I doubt I'll even replace that. It's just seriously showing its age, and probably hasn't even been used regularly since before 2000.

Same here. Too bad I already pretty much gave up on the machine I was originally going to put it on (a Gateway from 1997-1998 with 64MB RAM and a 6.4GB hard drive that's hard to run just about anything on). Who knows, I might just boot it up once again just to try Haiku on, but I doubt I'll do much with it at this point.
