Hardware, Embedded Systems I've often wondered why computers - be it laptops or desktop - are so relatively monolithic. Wouldn't it make much more sense to have a whole cluster of very tiny individual computers, all with their own tiny processor, RAM, data storage, and serial ports, which power up when needed and are easily replaced when broken? Well, Liquidware thought so too, and came up with the Illuminato X Machina.

Awesome but, probably not the future

Achieving this idea is really awesome, but I don't think this has a place in desktop computing.
People would see this on the desktop if:
1. It's easier i.e., cheaper for manufacturers to design
2. It's easier for programmers to code on
So far, I don't think that's possible yet.

Instead, I feel that this might lead to new developments in the concept of distributed super-computing. Probably something like "dedicated distributed super-computing"
