Windows Last week we talked about what Linux (well, okay, X) could learn from Windows Vista and Windows 7, focusing on the graphics stack. A short article over at TechWorld lists seven things Windows 7 should learn from the Linux world. Some of them are spot-on, a few are nonsensical, and of course, and I'm sure you have a few to add too.

"As long as they don't start using silly alliterating adjective/animal combinations, I'm happy."

Oh, totally loved that one! I don't like the way it is done in Ubuntu too.

"Another suggestion is that Microsoft should slim down for the mobile world"

That's almost impossible. MS doesn't target the mobile devices market [Windows Mobile and CE ... well, that's a joke]. The only reasonable way of putting MS on a device without sacrificing all of it's power and HDD space is to use Embedded XP/other version of Windows, but - for now - it takes a whole load of truck of cigarettes, 5000 gallons of coffee and loads of time to create such installation. The procedure of preparing Windows Embedded is completely $@#$@ up and too complicated.

P.S I don't care for the wars between Windows and Linux, because there are bunch of other OSs in the world. I only pointed out some of the obvious things that some of the folks have to face.
