Graphics, User Interfaces Gimp critics will have one less thing to complain about when Gimp 2.8 is released later this year. Single window mode is coming with the next major release along with some other interesting UI enhancements.

Kind of like Matlab where you can arrange sub-windows within the main window or undock them to become their own separate window like so:

Much better than all the windows of Gimp or the Mac version of Stata.

No, that's per application. I'm thinking of that for every application ( not every application instance), with no application support required ( all handled by the windows manager ).
