Hardware, Embedded Systems The future of integrated graphics processors lies somewhere on the dies of future processors, that much is a certainty. However, this creates a big problem for NVIDIA, whose chipset business will be out, of well, business. Beating everybody to the punch, the company announced yesterday that it is ceasing all development on future chipsets, citing unfair business practices from Intel.

Alot are of people wondering about what Apple is going to do. Maybe since they've acquired PA semi they have other plans.

Otherwise the new technologies in Snow Leopard will have been developed for nothing if Intel plans to make their own SOC with a graphics accelerator. It's been stated and I think we can agree that Apple knew about 1) Intel's plans for SOC, 2) Nvidia's troubles, and 3) AMD's lesser offerings in the grapics dept.

In any event I believe Apple have a plan in place and I'm not really worried about what is going to happen to them if Nvidia and or AMD stop making graphics chips.

I suppose that would also help with the Psystar situation, if they started making their OWN graphics chips. Still, that seems like an awful lot of time and effort when many companies center around making such products.
