Windows 7 has been out and about for little over a week now, and as it turns out, Microsoft's new baby is doing relatively well. That is, according to the figures by NetApplications: Windows 7 already reached the 3% mark this weekend, and is already closing in on the 4% mark.

Actually, Suspend and Hibernate work for the vast majority of Ubuntu users now.
The first link is about a single person having an issue in January, and someone gave them a workaround. Yawn.
In the second link you give, out of 570 posts only four or five have to do with Suspend/Hibernate issues.
Meanwhile, I know of at least three persons using Windows who have issues with either Suspend or Hibernate. And they're not alone:

They also work flawlessly on my older Compaq Presario, although I had to enable KMS.
