Amiga & AROS After days of wild speculation and ridiculously fast-growing threads on AmigaWorld.net, we finally know most of what we need to know about the new Amiga. This is not just a random PowerPC evaluation board that you can stuff in a generic case - no, this is an all-new system with a custom motherboard, and some very, very interesting innovations - like a fully customisable co-processor. Twenty-five years after the introduction of the first Amiga, this is one heck of a machine.

Oh, come on. It's just Amiga. Amiga promises the second coming of Christ since 20 years and since the same time the Amiga community is the laughing stock of the whole IT community.
You can't blame me for taking part in laughing at Amiga.

Dude, we're talking about a company that's craving for CPUs that Apple got 8 years ago and ditched 4 years ago (PowerPC 970).

OTOT except the AROS camp, the Amiga community is closed-source fanatic. More reason to mock them.

Yes, I can blame you. I blame you because you don't walk into a church to attend a mass and then complain, point, and laugh about the fact that the church is filled with religious people.

OSNews is the church. We are geeks here, and we get excited about stuff like this. If you don't, and are happy with the same old boring x86 crap that everybody else uses, then fine - but don't act like a dick here. You're ruining our fun for no apparent reason other than a lack of understanding (as evidenced by your massive 400 MIPS fail) and misguided smugness.

Sheesh.

My only comment to you is that for Amiga to do anything new they would have to announce it. I understand that people will be sceptical about it all due to the history, which is fair enough... but if they truly are going to make a come back they need to announce something.

We just don't need comments like yours trying to stamp out the smoke before it becomes a fire.

Remember the story of the boy who cried wolf? the last time he cried wolf, when no one paid any attention to him anymore, was when the wolf actually was coming. ;)
