Gentoo I've been wanting to try Gentoo for some time, but always had to roll my eyes at the pages and pages of installation instructions. This time, however, I rolled up my sleeves and buckled down. Minutes later, I was on my way.

I can't agree with you more and I'm very glad you've posted this article!

I tried almost all distro's out there and I always get back to Slack somehow, it's the best!

I tried Gentoo several times, I think about 5 times spending a couple of days each time to built it, and I'm not too lazy to read documentation.

I followed the docs step by step, starting from stage1 the first time, starting from 3 the second time, but I never got it to work as smoothley as slack does.

I think Gentoo sucks, Gentoo ain't Linux it's just 'another' OS.
Same thing goes for Ubuntu, I think it sucks too, I've ran it for a couple of weeks and everything works but it's different, I don't feel good when working in it.

I'm so used to Slackware with Dropline Gnome (running slack 10.2 with DLG 2.12.0 atm)I'll always stick to it and never will try that shit gentoo again.

Please oh please tell me this is sarcastic. All distros that aren't slackware aren't linux. Yeah, whatever. They make me feel cheap and dirty inside. Whatever your smoking, its powerfull. By the way, thanks to the editors for posting a article that would obviously degrade into a flamefest, what are you trying to do, turn this into slashdot?
