Why waste your time with gtk toolkit when you can develop your apps in c++ and qt framework ?

because you can develop your apps in c++ and gtkmm if you want c++, and don't have to learn yet another way of doing things as gtkmm is STL like.

Maybe because someone doesn't want to shell out $3000 for a license if they want to write a commercial app.

A: It's ridiculously overpriced if you don't want to inherit the GPL virus.

B: I don't like the fact that qt adds propietary extensions to the C++ language which requires a special pre-processor.
