Overkill today is a shortsighted limitation in months. Or are you new to computers? :p
No, and I'm not new to phones either. There are lots of limitations you'll hit before the memory becomes an issue at all. And again, if it was easy to do, it would have been done already. Apple and Google added contorted task management systems to their platforms just because of the small RAM.

I'd go on a limb and call you crazy. :-)
Not on dual cores, but on 4gb+ RAM on phones. That would be overkill for any real world requirements.
