I can't think of a single situation where a corporation has determined how I live my life. They may have influence via media exposure and money (after all, I'm payed by a corporation), but I've always had full control in all my interactions with corporations, and ultimately the choice whether or not to deal with them or not. On the other hand, my interactions with the government are all completely one-sided. I have no choice when dealing with the government (other than to leave the state or country that I live). The government has full authority and power to determine how I'm allowed to live my life or inflict punishment on me however they see fit.
