They wasted an awful lot of time with Maemo. Qt-based Meego has a huge potential, but it should reach consumers ASAP (it's already late) and not be confined to the high-end segment.
Android already has a lot of momentum, and if confined to the high-end, Meego won't be able to create a competitive ecosystem :-(
I've been delaying the purchase of a smartphone waiting for Nokia (and for prices going down). If Nokia sells its mid-range segment to Windows Phone 7, I'll simply jump on the Android bandwagon.
If there is no way to have a Maemo-based affordable phone in the short-term, they should just embrace Android in the interim. Commiting to Microsoft is simply suicidal.
